Welcome BMSC physician specialty credential holders
Current BMSC physician specialty certification holders can recertify their credentials following the instructions outlined below. Current certification holders can keep compliant through recertification and obtaining Continuing Education Units (CEUs).
Testing for new candidates is not available.
To maintain your certification as a Specialty Coding Professional, Advanced Coding Specialist, or Certified Compliance Professional - Physician you must complete 20 Continuing Education Units (CEUs) every year. Your completed Application for Recertification with all required documentation of your continuing education efforts is due on or before the anniversary of your certification (your certification date listed on your certificate).*
Please email your completed form to bmscapp@decisionhealth.com. Once your application has been received and reviewed, you will receive an email with instructions for how to submit payment and complete your recertification.

Specialty Coding Professional (SCP) recertification: $149.00
Advanced Coding Specialist (ACS) recertification: $229.00
Certified Compliance Professional – Physician (CCP-P) recertification: $149.00

*Any recertifications submitted within 90 days after the credential expires will be subject to a 15% late fee. Note that 90 days after a credential expires, it will be revoked and cannot be recertified without BMSC’s review and approval. Do not submit CEUs as you earn them.
